sears tiller?
I have a tiller that is about 26 yrs old(sears) model# 917.298550
5.HP it won’t start , I don’t have any spark on the spark plug wire could it be the armature magneto or my flyweel magneto
can you please help

Pull the fly wheel off of it.Replace the points,the coil and,if possible the spark plug wire.Before you put it back together make sure to clean all the rust off the surface of the magnet in the flywheel.Just like an older model car,tillers need tune-ups too and that is what you just did.Oh yeah,don’t forget to replace the spark plug also!!When you are through with it for the year,fill the fuel tank and the fuel bowl on the carb to the top with a mixture of sta-bil fuel additive and gas.Move it inside if you have a shed you can keep it in.If not,cover the motor with a tarp so NO moisture can get to and rust up all the parts you just got thru cleaning.
